Charles “Charlie” Douglas

Born on February 22, 1917 in Arundel, Quebec, Canada.  He married Kathleen Williams (1918 - 1984) on September 6, 1941.  They raised 4 children, two of whom carved, Howard and Janet.  By the age of 32 he was carving professionally.  Charlie would take several weeks of the year to carve on site at Eaton’s Department Store and sell his sculptures.  He was also know to set up at tourist locations and sell his carvings.  Charlie died on July 2, 1983 in Morin-Heights, Quebec, Canada.  He is buried in Liverpool, Merseyside, England.
